Meanjin-Brisbane-based neo gypsy band Greshka are a seven-piece Klezmer ensemble, an instrumental-heavy style of music instantly recognisable to those familiar with Central and Eastern European culture. Greshka play the classical Klezmer material and work in strains of other styles, funk, jazz, metal, electronica. Greshka are a deliberately silly band with some serious skills, and we’ve recorded them performing live at Yonder Festival on the 26th of November, 2021, in Queensland’s Mary Valley.
