Ep 411 – Fresco Kyoto

Fresco Kyoto:

Live at the Black Bear Lodge, Fortitude Valley, 2 January 2020

Meanjin/Brisbane-based art-pop group Fresco Kyoto came about on the scene in 2017 with the release of their debut single ‘Fool Me Once’, since then they’ve picked up a record deal and released a steady stream of singles and EPs. Taking inspiration from acts like Mansionair, London Grammar, Glass Animals and Radiohead, Fresco Kyoto have released six singles and one EP, with another EP on the way. This episode we present a recording of Fresco Kyoto performing live at the Black Bear Lodge in January 2020, just before the first wave of COVID-19 hit. Joining Matt this episode is Fresco Kyoto lead singer Robbie Balmer for an interview about the band’s origins and creative philosophy.
