Ep 402 – Pipin

Pipin:

Live at Yonder Festival, Mary Valley, 25 November 2021

Pipin began as the project of singer/songwriter Bec Hoole in 2018 when she began collaborating with her partner, Hugh Middleton from the band Mid Ayr. The name Pipin came partly from a dog and partly from a children’s book. Pipin have released a long, steady string of singles since 2020, as well as the EP “Your Time Is Your Own” in 2021. The material has gradually moved from dreamy pop to a more upbeat disco vibe.

There is a strong visual component to the Pipin project, with elaborate outfits, music videos and live performances. In the past year Pipin have racked up some major support slots with the likes of Hatchie and Ball Park Music. The live band consists of Hoole on vocals, Middleton on guitar, George Reed on bass and synth bass and Zac Moynihan on drums.
