Washington:

Live at The Tivoli, Fortitude Valley, 25 November 2020

Washington is the project of Brisbane-based musician Megan Washington. Beginning her career in the genre of jazz, she released early EPs in collaboration with Sean Foran and Paul Grabowsky before pivoting to indie pop with 2008’s “Clementine” EP. Washington’s career took off from there, a string of increasingly popular EPs leading up to debut album “I Believe You Liar” in 2010, which won two ARIA Awards and the APRA Award for Breakthrough Songwriter of the Year.

The mini-album “Insomnia” followed in 2011, and then full-length “There There” in 2014. After living around the world from Melbourne to New York to London, Washington settled back in Brisbane and had several attempts at recording her third album before finally releasing the acclaimed and kaleidoscopic “Batflowers” in August 2020.
