Hatchie is the musical project of Harriette Pilbeam, an artist who has given a lot to the Brisbane music scene in various bands and now as a solo artist putting out great music. A multi-instrumentalist, Pilbeam is the bassist and vocalist of one of Brisbane’s finest indie bands, Babaganouj, who are beloved by oh so many and featured in Episode 177 of Live Delay. Another stellar but sadly gone-too-soon project Pilbeam was a part of was Go Violets which wrapped up in 2014. Getting to explore and expand her sound in her solo work, Pilbeam released her first single as Hatchie in 2017 called “Try”. A product of writing and developing since 2015, “Try” did big moves around Australia and built a steady and sustained buzz until her EP was released in May of 2018 called Sugar and Spice.  A very cohesive body of work, the five tracks had all the elements of shoegaze pop dreaminess that you can imagine. After waiting a masterfully judged beat and touring around the country and the world, Hatchie released her debut album Keepsake on the 21st of June 2019. A brilliant album, it shows Hatchie honing their craft and delivering the sound she wants. There are big synth moments that give you that sustained pop moment but it always feels balanced and never far from shoegaze fuzz and her vocals pull the whole soundscape together. This particular live recording of Hatchie was recorded on her pre-album release tour of Australia.

Due to prior arrangement with the artist/management, we are unable to provide this episode for streaming.
