Recorded at The Prince Of Wales Hotel, Nundah, Brisbane on 17th of January, 2015.

If you wind your clock back to Brisbane circa 2000, the name Giants Of Science
was near inescapable. The four-piece blasted onto the Brisbane music scene with their noxious blend of stoner guitar overtones and fist pounding drums, they blew the minds of many punters who were perhaps unprepared for the show they were about to witness and made believers out of them. Sharing stages with the likes of Foo Fighters, MC5, Rollins Band, A Perfect Circle and Mudhoney, they became an institution and a benchmark for many bands to follow. Last year, the Giants released their first taste of new music in 9 years, with the EP titled, What’s Wrong With You And Why?, and you’ll be hearing some songs from that release in this set.

Recorded by Josh Watson & Mino Peric.

Recorded at Electric Playground, Brisbane on the 4th of April, 2014.

Dollar Bar formed back in 1998 when Dale Peachey wanted to get a revolving band behind his Guided By Voices and Kurt Vonnegut inspired pop songs. That was the general idea until he got Patrick McCabe, Brendan Rosenstengel and Chris Yates involved, and they’ve stuck together ever since. Well, if you ignore the six years that they were on hiatus. The second coming of Dollar Bar has been very fruitful for the band; since getting back together they’ve released a compilation of old demos, a split cassette with Little Lovers, a sophomore album entitled Paddington Workers Club and now a third record which is just about to be released on Sonic Masala Records titled Hot Ones.
