Sparkspitter
Recorded by Branko Cosic.
Mixed by Cameron Smith.
Recorded at The Waiting Room, Brisbane on 12th of September, 2014.

Created from the ashes of other Adelaide bands finding their feet around 2011,
Sparkspitter was an experimental outlet for Thomas Capogreco & Rohan
Goldsmith. Challenging themselves to create fully fleshed songs with lap steel
guitar loops as a basis, Matt Barlow came along to complete the rhythmic picture
by picking up Bass duties, and the band was formed. Their music have seen
them tour the country and play with such eclectic artists, such as Thee Oh Sees,
OM, Love Of Diagrams & Civil Civic.

This particular set we are about to hear was recorded at The Waiting Room in
Brisbane last year after their BigSound Music Conference appearance.
This was a special one-off set before going back home to Adelaide.

The Royal Artillery
Recorded & mixed by Eoin Clements & Sep V.
Recorded at 4ZZZ Studios, Brisbane on the 21st of February, 2015.

Starting up in the late 2000’s, The Royal Artillery have become a powerhouse band on the blues rock circuit. Led by guitarist Zed Charles, their sound is reminiscent of early Hendrix days, with a dash of 90’s riffage. Slowly but surely, they’ve had a solid following that seems to grow strength to strength show by show. This is a band you need to watch out for.

Airing details: Originally via Zed Digital, 8-9pm, Friday 6 March 2015.
Show production and engineering: Branko Cosic.
