NIKKO
Recorded by Darragh Murray.
Mixed by Cameron Smith.
Recorded at the Beetle Bar, Brisbane, December 2012.
The frontier dark clamour of Nikko has reverberated around Brisbane for some time now. Emerging in around 2005, five schoolyard friends formed and devoted their time to writing dark lyrical masterpieces augmented by some incredible noise.
Made up of Ryan Potter, Jackson Briggs, Sam Whiting and Blair Westbrook, the band have released two excellent records, 2010’s The Warm Side and 2012’s Gold & Red amongst a host of EPs.
The feature set we’ve got for you on the latest Live Delay comes from the band’s performance at the Beetle Bar in Brisbane back in December 2012, when they played alongside the likes of The Keep On Dancins, Ghost Notes and Sucks. Make sure you tune in to get a full appreciation of the power and wonder of Nikko.
GOD BOWS TO MATH
Recorded and mixed by Josh Watson.
Recorded at The Waiting Room, Brisbane.
Taking their name from a song by The Minutemen, Auckland’s God Bows To Math are fairly regular visitors to Australian shores. Proudly DIY, the New Zealand trio have performed their unique noise adventures at over 100 performances during their four year career. Their self-titled debut hits shelves in 2011 and they’ve recently released a new 7inch single in the lead up to their forthcoming sophomore record.
This performance from The Waiting Room in Brisbane back in April 2013 shows every angle of this exciting – and noisy – rock band.
