In Episode 45 of Live Delay we take in the exciting almost disco pop of Brisbane four piece The Stress of Leisure.

THE STRESS OF LEISURE
Recorded by Darragh Murray.
Mixed by Branko Cosisc.
Recorded at The Beetle Bar, Brisbane, September 2013.

The Stress of Leisure – while actually a four piece band – is the brainchild of Brisbane local Ian Powne who has been performing under this name since 2005.

A big fan of the concept album, Ian’s songwriting has moved from the gentle pop of the band’s 2008 self titled effort to the almost Talking Head-ish art rock found on the tropically themed 2012 record Cassowary.

Featuring Pascalle Burton, Jane Elliot and Phil Usher – The Stress of Leisure are also an accomplished live act, and you’re sure to hear that coming through on the following live recording.

Tune in to hear the band playing live at The Beetle Bar in Brisbane.
