Heads of Charm have been active as a live band from April 2013, after initially beginning as singer/guitarist David Gagliardi’s studio project. It’s been a while since that debut EP and the band has seem some line-up changes, but they’re stuck to the tried and true power-trio formation. Most recently they’ve released a single entitled ‘Spain is on a Roll’, that’s the reason that the Melbourne lads were recently touring the east-coast for. They’ve covered a lot of ground for a band that still doesn’t have a debut LP but something tells me they’re in not much of a hurry; all their effort has gone into creating a frenetic live show that’s equal parts intelligent and abrasive.

Narrow Lands are four gentle people that like to make violent music. When you consider their 2013 debut album ‘Popular Music That Will Forever’ it’s hard to top that extremely apt description. They’re from Australia’s most expensive city, Sydney, and they’re not afraid to take aim at Triple J and the notion of consumer targeted music. Employing the low rumble of the baritone guitar and pitting it against jazzy riffs and industrial embellishment, Narrow Lands fulfil all manner of AUS rock prophecies from the likes of The Scientists to Dead China Doll.
