Sabrina Lawrie:

Live at The Zoo, Fortitude Valley, 18 January 2019

Sabrina Lawrie has been a force in the Brisbane music community since the 1990s. Kicking off in 1996 with her first outfit Sabadah, Lawrie also played in the bands Tongue, Level Seven and Little Vegas & The Fuzz Parade before striking out under her own name. In between organising a new backing band, The Hunting Party, releasing singles and booking local venue The Beetle Bar, Lawrie kept busy in the early 2010s while slowly building up material for her debut album. Production of the album was put on hold in early 2016 when she suffered a life-threatening injury after falling from a balcony and breaking her back.

It was a hard road to recovery for Lawrie, but incredibly she managed to finish and release her long-gestating debut solo album “Hush The Mountain” only a year later, in 2017. This set you’re about to hear was captured at the launch of her first post-album single, “Nopiates”.
