Married Man:

Live at Sonic Masala Fest, Greenslopes Bowls Club, 17 August 2019

Married Man began life as the solo project of Sydney musician Sarafina Pea, expanding in 2017 with the addition of bassist Kim Sukit and drummer Marnie Vaughn. A double A-side 7″, “Meet Me At Penn Station/Clear As Hell” was released in 2017 and in 2019 the band launched their debut album, “Hard Bargain”. This set features Owen Penglis, who recorded the band’s album, filling in on bass.

Life Strike:

Live at Sonic Masala Fest, Greenslopes Bowls Club, 17 August 2019

Though a Melbourne band, none of the three members of Life Strike are locals. Bassist Nick Pratt is originally from New Zealand, previously playing in the band Deaf Wish. Guitarist Patrick McCabe and drummer Scotty Brique both come from Brisbane, McCabe having played in Dollar Bar and Brique in Nova Scotia, Seaplane and Air Jordans.

Playing their first show in 2016, the band released a self-titled 7″ EP on Unwound Records in 2017. In 2019 their first album “Primitive Future” was released, featuring songs depicting an offbeat, post-apocalyptic future through the lens of upbeat, Flying Nun-influenced post-punk.
