If you’ve ever looked down at your feet while walking up Brunswick street in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley, you might have a seen a gold plaque on the walkway with the word ‘Custard’ written across it. Although Custard as a food is delicious, that plaque is actually for the iconic indie pop band that burst out of Brisbane in the 90’s.

Their first release came in 1990 with a 4 track EP Vinyl titled Rockfish Anna. Throughout the remainder of the 90’s they managed to release 4 albums, Starting off with Wahooti Fandango in 1994, Wisenheimer in ’95, We Have The Technology in ’97 and seeing out the decade with Loverama in ‘99, they became a well oiled touring machine, covering Australia and U.S.A extensively as their popularity increased with each release. Their sound is the perfect encapsulation of adolescence, shifting from down tempo lazy tunes, to high energy short, fast bursts of punk that is all delivered with a razor sharp sense of humour.

After an extensive hiatus starting in 1999, Custard released their first album in 16 years titled ‘Come Back, All Is Forgiven’ proving to the world that they still have their strong songwriting skills, and most important of all, their sense of humour.
