Recorded at the Greenslopes Bowls Club as part of the Sonic Masala festival on the 14th of March, 2015.

What started out as a new project between self-confessed music geeks Scott Mercer & Ash Shanahan in 2011, has blossomed into a harmonious four-piece garage-pop outfit that goes by the name of ‘Go Go Fish’, adding Angela Hibbard and Murray Bowler to the fold a year later to fill out their desired sound. Sighting Sonic Youth as an influence, which you’ll get to sample in this particular set, they also wear the sound of other Brisbane pop-rock bands such as Iron On and Screamfeeder on their collective sleeves. They’ve just released their second EP, titled ‘If I Go Down I’m Taking You With Me’. It will also be their last release, as some of the members will be jetting off overseas to pursue other endeavors.
But thou shall not be sad, but shall celebrate the incredible sounds of Go Go Fish.

Recorded at The Waiting Room on the 13th of September, 2014.

Spirit Bunny are a relatively new group that formed in 2013 and have already started catching the attention of numerous blogs and have even had their music featured in a documentary. Not bad for a group in its infancy. The 3 members of the band, Kate Thomas, Cameron Smith and Joel Saunders, create a sound that is dance-worthy, but not as you’d expect. Armed with a drum kit and two Commodore 64’s using music software from the 80’s, certain key commands trigger musical notes that evoke 8-bit emotions and cold distorted melodies with bombastic drum hits, Spirit Bunny are a group that must be seen to be believed.
