Episode 103: The Mega Men; Vision Four 5

BNEthedefinitivearchive

The culmination of two years hard work, BNE: The Definitive Archive is a prolific look at the last 35 years of independent electronic music in Brisbane. Compiled by Trans:Com the book features some 140 bands and artists as well as an archive of 260 recordings. In terms of Brisbane music or even electronic music journalism not much else comes close to the sheer breadth of scope contained within Project BNE.

On September 6th 2014, Trans:Com launched BNE: The Definitive Archive at The Brisbane powerhouse with performances by The Mega Men, Vision Four 5, Soma Rasa and Boxcar.

The Mega Men were formed in 1982 by Zhian Behm, Mark love and Lance Leopard. They were well known throughout the Brisbane underground party scene for their unique style and flair; a picture perfect remix of new-romantic fashion and 80s excess. They continued to play the club scene throughout the 80s and even performed on TV for channel 7; a performance that brings to mind both the pop flamboyance of Adam Ant with the cool German efficiency of a group like DAF. They reformed in 2012 and still make the occasional public appearance.
