Episode 54: Pat Ridgewell (Small World Experience); Keep On Dancins

4toutsmallworldexperienceOn Episode 54 of Live Delay, we hear a live set from Brisbane songwriting legend PAT RIDGEWELL. We also throw a few live songs from the KEEP ON DANCINS’ just for good measure.

PAT RIDGEWELL
Recorded and mixed by Dusty Anastassiou.
Recorded at The End, August 2013.

Pat Ridgewell is known to many in the Brisbane scene as the force de majeure behind 90s/00s three piece SMALL WORLD EXPERIENCE.
The band wrote clever and hooky lo-fi pop songs much in the vein of Evan Dando and the Lemonheads and played a whole bunch of shows around Brisbane and the east coast of Australia during the early 90s, releasing their first record Shelf Life in 1994. They followed their debut up with ‘Side Projects’ that appeared in May 1996 through Chapter Music.

Pat played an intimate solo set at The End in West End in mid-2013. Live Delay was lucky to record the gig and bring you a couple of classic live tunes.

This set also features a bit of a S.W.E history lesson brought to you be the lovely voices of Michelle Brown, Andrew McLellan and Josh Watson. Keep your ears pricked.

KEEP ON DANCIN’S
Recorded by Darragh Murray.
Mixed by Cameron Smith.
Recorded at The Beatle Bar, Brisbane – December 2013.

Blending a mix of The Velvet Underground and The Jesus and Mary Chain, Brisbane’s Keep on Dancin’s have been regulars on the Australian live music scene for the past four years. An accomplished band having received much kudos from their immense debut record The End Of Everything, they’re also not fazed by the challenges of the stage, having played regularly throughout the country for some time. Live Delay was fortunate to catch them playing alongside other Brisbane institutions such as Nikko and Ghost Notes back in December 2012 at The Beatle Bar.
