THE NATIVE CATS
Recorded and mixed by Andrew McLellan.
Recorded at the Alliance Tavern, Brisbane, September 2013.

Woah! This is the first time we’ve had a band from HOBART, TASMANIA on the show. And it’s long overdue!

Fresh from polling #4 in the Mess and Noise critics choice in 2013 for their 2013 blockbuster ‘Dallas’, The Native Cats are on Live Delay. Coincidence? I think not.

We’ve got this extra special pre-xmas gift for all you listeners out there – The Native Cats playing live on stage from the Alliance Tavern in Brisbane back in September 2013.

If you’ve never heard of the band before, they’re made up of Peter Escott and Julian Teakle and formed in Hobart in 2007, playing their first show on Australia Day 2008. Since then they’re released three full length records, toured extensively both in Australia and in the United States. Calling the likes of The Fall and New Order influences, they’ve got this great pastiche of noise and stream of conscious style lyrics floating around in the sonic crevices between your brain and your motor functions. It’s great stuff.

We’re pretty stoked to be able to bring this full length live set of The Native Cats. There’s also a special feature interview with Julian from the band to break up the sweaty dance floor with.

p.s Merry xmas!
