In this special episode of Live Delay, as usual, we have some exceptional live performances to showcase, including Melbourne’s HARMONY, who Live Delay recorded when the band visited Brisbane in February 2013. Also joining Harmony on the bill is former Go Betweens members’ ADELE & GLENN, as well as Brisbane song crafter extraordinaire, BEN SALTER.

A melange of souful rock and roll and gallow blues, Harmony are one of the best bands going in Australia today. Featuring the powerful voice and guitar of Tom Lyncoln (The Nation Blue), drummer Alex Kastaniotis, and bassist Jon Chapple (ex-Mclusky), Harmony also throw in a three-part gospel choir for good measure which gives their sound even more transcendental dynamics.
Recently, They’ve followed up their critically acclaimed self-titled debut with a solid 7 inch release of ‘Do Me A Favour’ in early 2013, with their second record due to be released sometime very soon. Until then you can enjoy this exclusive live set from the band, featuring six excellent songs.

Sydney duo Adele Pickvance & Glenn Thompson are well known for their participation in the second coming of The Go Betweens in the early 2000s. Thompson also played drums for the beloved Custard during the late 1990s. But they’re also an excellent duo in their own right, playing a unique brand of folky-pop music. They released a well-received LP in 2012 called ‘Carrington Street’ but this live set comes from their 2012 appearance at the Big Sound conference in Brisbane.

BEN SALTER

The multitalented Ben Salter is well known in the contemporary Australian musical landscape – cutting his teeth with the hard rocking Giants of Science while exercising his folkier alt-country moods via The Gin Club. He also went solo, releasing a critically acclaimed record – The Cat back in August 2011.
He’s a man with a distinctly powerful voice and a sly charisma that shines on his songs. The set we feature today on Live Delay comes from Big Sound in Brisbane in 2011
