Episode 14: Useless Children; Undead Apes

useless

Warning: This episode of Live Delay is LOUD and FAST. We bring you sludgy awesomeness of Useless Children from Melbourne, playing live at The Waiting Room in Brisbane last year. And as if it couldn’t get any better, we’ve also thrown in a dose of punk, with Brisbane’s UNDEAD APES providing us with some super-fast chord progressions and some laughs as well.

Melbourne’s Useless Children are LOUD. Extremely loud. And last year the visited Brisbane to launch their excellent second full length record, Post Ending/Pre Completion.

A three piece made up of drummer and vocalist Cinta Master, guitarist and vocalist Rob Bonnett and bassist Steve Patrick, the trio are an unrelenting force, emerging from their punk rooms to add in brutish noise dynamics and other sound experiments.

UNDEAD APES
Recorded by Andrew McLellan and Darragh Murray. Mixed by Dusty Anastassiou.
Recorded at The Waiting Room, Brisbane.

It’s Undead Apes! A punk supergroup of sorts from Brisbane, who’ve released two nice little records of short punky ditties, including the awesome Grave Consequences, and have played countless shows over the past few years.

They sound a bit like the Descendents, I suppose, their songs are short, tongue and cheek and deal with issues of freezing to death, taxation, and other everyday things like hating your day job. This set comes from the same gig as the previous Useless Children set – back in September 2012 at the Waiting Room.
